Just when I thought we couldn't get any busier, we've been forced to stop everything and take it easy. The past few days have included taking care of sick kid # 1, and, now, I'm onto sick kid # 2. I don't want to bore you with the details, so instead, I want to share a few photos of the fun we had at a friend's house over the weekend before all of this craziness began.
Have you seen those Cuddleuppets advertised on TV? My kids have been wanting to get their hands on one and singing the catchy jingle for months, so I was really excited to win one at a recent event that I went to. CuddleUppets are ridiculously soft and cuddly blankets/puppets. It was a nice size for the car, and my 4 year old snuggled with it during the hour long journey to my friend's house.
My friend Christine is an amazing cook and she's always experimenting with new recipes. The best way to describe her cooking is 'the perfect combination of healthy and delicious', but no matter what she cooks, you always want more. I don't think Haagen Daz counts as healthy, but sometimes, you just need to splurge. And, whe you top creamy vanilla ice cream with grilled pineapple, fresh sliced banana and brown sugar, it just melts in your mouth. Yum!
One of the kids' favorite part of the day was playing with the dog and giving her a bath. I was pretty skeptical about this, because I know some dogs don't like to get bathed, but she took her bath like a champ! Miss Lucy, the bichon frise, was such a sweetheart.
Giving the dog a bath was quite entertaining, but the highlight of the day for me was catching up with long time friends and enjoying the beautiful (albeit cloudy) weather. I hope we have many, many more days like that in the future.
