I've probably said it before, and I'm sure I'll say it again, but one thing I love about parks, gardens and arboretums is that no matter how many times you go, each visit is unique.
A few weeks ago, my kids and I took a day trip to Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA with some friends. We've been there before, but this was a really special visit. We saw things we never saw before and took time to smell the flowers.
I could tell you about all of the beautiful things we saw, but my words don't do Longwood Gardens justice. You have to see it for yourself.
A quick tip for all the parents out there... dress your child in short sleeves and possibly consider bringing a change of clothes whenever you visit somewhere with water features. Shortly after I snapped some of the photos above, I was ringing lots of water out my son's sleeves. Luckily he didn't mind too much, but next time I'll be better prepared.
Aren't these flowers gorgeous? See... I told you that you had to see it for yourself.
I just love these colors.
Do you have a favorite local garden? What is it?
